David Boothman stands as a true renaissance figure in Caribbean arts—a master painter, composer, jazz musician, and cultural engineer. For over four decades, his interdisciplinary work has blurred the boundaries between visual arts and musical arrangement, establishing him as one of Trinidad and Tobago's most versatile creative thinkers.

As founder of the Caribbean Renaissance Foundation and former Master Artist in Residence at the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT), Boothman’s contribution extends far beyond performance. He continues to educate, mentor, and advocate for the preservation and evolution of regional arts history.

Educated at New York’s prestigious Pratt Institute, Boothman’s fine art and jazz explorations share a single soul. Whether arranging for the Caribbean Renaissance Jazz Ensemble or exhibiting at the Smithsonian Anacostia Museum and OAS, his art bridges the visual texture of painterly strokes with the harmonic nuances of Caribbean jazz fusion.
